Toor Dal balls in curry

Things Needed:
Bengal gram dal,Toor dal,2 big onion sliced,2 big tomato sliced,cumin seeds,Fennel seeds,fenugreek,curry leaves,chopped red chillies(2),cumin powder,Ginger & garlic paste(2tsp),Chilly powder ,Daniya powder,Salt to taste and cooking oil,Tamarind water,turmeric powder.

Method:

  1. Take equal amounts of both dals and let it soak in water for atleast 4 hrs.Once its soaked well grind it into a fine paste without adding any water.
  2. Add 1 big onion finely chopped,1tsp of cumin seeds,some curry leaves,red chillies,ginger garlic paste,1 tbsp of chilly powder to the grinded paste.Add some salt to taste and mix them well.
  3. Make the mixture into medium sized balls.
  4. Pour oil in a kadai and deep fry the balls and keep them aside.
  5. Now in another pan add 2 tbsp of oil and throw in some cumin seeds,fenel seeds,fenugreek seeds and some curry leaves.
  6. Now add some sliced onion(big or small) once its golden brown add the tomato's and salt to taste.A tsp of turmeric powder also to it.
  7. Now pour 4 glasses of water and add 1 tbsp of chilly powder and 3 tbsp of daniya powder(According to our thickness preference),1 tsp of cumin powder and bring it to a boil.
  8. Then add a small cup(according to your sour taste) of tamarind water and let it boil.
  9. Once the raw smell is gone add in the balls to it.Sprinkle some chopped coriander leaves and serve it.

This is a best combination for plain rice varieties.
